Managing Devices
Your Pro license works on up to 3 machines.
Device limit
A single QuickContract Pro license can be activated on up to 3 Macs simultaneously. This lets you use QuickContract on your office desktop, your laptop, and a home machine without purchasing additional licenses. Each activation registers the machine with your license key.
Viewing your active devices
To see which machines are currently using your license:
Open Settings
Go to Settings > License in QuickContract.
View devices
Below your license status, you will see a list of activated devices. Each entry shows the machine name and the date it was activated.
Deactivating a device
If you need to free up a device slot — for example, if you replaced a machine or no longer use a particular Mac — you can deactivate from either the active device or a different device:
- From the device itself: Open Settings > License and click Deactivate This Device. The machine is removed from your active devices immediately, and the license reverts to the Free plan on that machine.
- From another device: Open Settings > License, find the device you want to remove in the device list, and click the deactivate button next to it. This requires an internet connection to communicate with the license server.
After deactivation, the freed slot can be used to activate on a new machine.
Transferring to a new Mac
If you are moving to a new Mac, the process is straightforward:
Deactivate the old machine
On your old Mac, open QuickContract and go to Settings > License > Deactivate This Device.
Activate on the new machine
Install QuickContract on your new Mac, open Settings > License, paste your license key, and click Activate.
Deactivating a device only removes the license — it does not transfer your contracts, clauses, or meeting recordings. Use Backup & Restore to move your data to the new machine.
Lost access to a device
If you no longer have access to a machine (it was lost, broken, or wiped), you can still deactivate it remotely from any other device where your license is active. Open Settings > License, find the inaccessible device in the list, and click deactivate. If you have lost access to all your devices, contact support from the website to reset your device activations.
On the Team plan, each member has their own 3-device limit. The workspace owner cannot manage other members' device activations — each person manages their own devices through their own Settings page.
